Privacy Policy for Compress PDF to 1MB
Last updated:
Compress PDF to 1MB does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit any personal data, PDF contents, or browsing information. All processing stays on your device.
This policy covers the Chrome extension. The pages at compress-pdf-to-1mb.pro (including the welcome page and this privacy page) are static. They do not run analytics or set cookies in our code. Your browser still requests those pages like any other website, so the host may keep ordinary server logs.
What Data We Collect
We do not collect personal information, analytics, crash reports, or file contents.
On your device only, the extension may keep:
- Your last chosen target size (for example 1 MB), so the next session can restore it
- PDFs you add, their file names, progress, and any extra quality versions from that batch, until you clear results
- A local shortcut to a file you picked, so an interrupted batch can resume. It stays on this computer and is not an upload
- Short-lived toolbar status (busy / done) for the current browser session
None of this leaves your computer.
How Data Is Stored
Preferences and in-progress files stay in Chrome’s local storage on your machine. They are not synced to your Google account or to any server we operate.
Compressed PDFs are saved to your Downloads folder because you asked the extension to compress them.
How Data Is Used
Local data exists only so the extension can compress the files you chose, remember your target size, and show progress. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to compressing PDFs.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use analytics, advertising networks, crash reporters, or other third-party online services. PDF files are never uploaded.
On first install, Chrome opens a welcome page at https://compress-pdf-to-1mb.pro/welcome/ so you can pin the toolbar icon. That page is not opened again on updates. The extension does not send your files or settings to that page, and it does not otherwise make network requests.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties. We cannot see your PDFs.
Data Retention and Deletion
Batch data (file names, progress, local copies, and file shortcuts) stays on your device while a batch is active or until you clear results. Uninstalling the extension removes its local data. Files already saved to Downloads remain on your disk until you delete them yourself.
Changes to This Policy
If our practices change, we will update this policy and the date above. The Chrome Web Store listing will point to the current version.
